In 2015, we embarked on our journey at a small hardware shop in Toa Payoh Block 73 Lorong 4, operating under the name Jin Wang Hardware. With a vision to offer quality products and exceptional service, we began building relationships with our customers, laying the foundation for what would grow into something much larger.
By 2017, we encountered the challenge of limited space. While we did our best to creatively display our products, the small shop couldn’t offer the full experience we wanted for our customers. We relied on catalogues to show a wider range of products, but we knew this was not the ideal way to showcase the quality we offered. Thanks to the support and encouragement of our loyal customers, we made the decision to expand. We sought the expertise of a professional interior designer to help transform our space into a more welcoming and functional showroom.
In 2018, we opened a small yet thoughtfully designed showroom that allowed customers to experience our cabinets, basins, taps, and other products in person. Although the space was still limited, we worked tirelessly to provide a more professional and customer-friendly environment, offering a glimpse of what we could offer on a larger scale. This marked an important step in our commitment to serving our customers with the best possible experience.
The arrival of Covid-19 in 2020 was a turning point for many businesses, including ours. With our physical shop closed and no online presence, our sales were heavily impacted. However, during this challenging time, we were overwhelmed by the number of customers who reached out asking if they could purchase products online. This was a wake-up call, and Ms. Lee took it upon herself to upskill, attending courses to better understand the growing need for an online presence. While the pandemic reshaped the retail landscape, we are deeply grateful for the unwavering support of our customers, who continued to stand by us, even in the most difficult of times.
In 2023, after years of dedication, we knew it was time to take the next step. Our vision of creating a larger, more immersive showroom came to life with a move to Block 69 Toa Payoh Lorong 4. With this expansion, we also rebranded to JW Lights m Bathroom, reflecting the growth of our company and our desire to offer our customers an even more refined and professional experience. This new chapter marks a significant milestone in our journey, and we are excited to continue serving our community with a broader selection of products in a spacious, thoughtfully designed environment.
